Type of Investigation: Vehicle Stop/Narcotic Investigation Date of Arrest: Thursday March 25th, 2021 Location: Buffalo Circle, Canisteo NY 14823... Subject(s): Richard W. Vail (Age 41) Charges: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree-Packaging, Possession of Hypodermic Instrument, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree, Unlicensed Operator and Operating Vehicle with a Fractured Windshield. Court: Canisteo Village Court Status: Subject was taken to the Steuben County Jail awaiting Centralized Arraignment. Details of the Incident: On Thursday March 25th, 2021 The Canisteo Village Police Department arrested Richard W. Vail (Age 41) of Wilson Road in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree-Packaging, Possession of Hypodermic Instrument, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree, Unlicensed Operator and Operating Vehicle with a Fractured Windshield. This investigation stemmed from a routine traffic stop on Buffalo Circle in the Village of Canisteo. During the investigations officers found that Vail was operating under a suspended license and located over 12 grams of Methamphetamines along with Drug Paraphernalia, multiple hypodermic needles and marijuana. Vail was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail awaiting Steuben County Centralized Arraignment. Assisted by: Steuben County Sheriff’s Office

Shaw (Age 31) Charges: Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree-Scales, Possession of Hypodermic Instrument, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, Use of Motor Vehicle without interlock device, Operating Vehicle without Insurance, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Unlicensed Operator and other Vehicle and Traffic Violations. Court: Canisteo Village Court Status: Subject was released on appearance tickets to appear in Canisteo Village Court at a later date and time. Details of the Incident: On Tuesday March 23rd, 2021 The Canisteo Village Police Department arrested Kyle J. Shaw (Age 31) of Erie Avenue in Hornell, New York for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree-Scales, Possession of Hypodermic Instrument, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 2nd Degree, Use of Motor Vehicle without interlock device, Operating Vehicle without Insurance, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Unlicensed Operator and other Vehicle and Traffic Violations. This investigation stemmed from a routine traffic stop in the Village of Canisteo turning into a Narcotic Investigation. Shaw was issued 11 Vehicle and Traffic Citations and appearance tickets to appear in Canisteo Village Court at a later date and time.
