#52waystosave Check all of your light fixtures to see if they say "Energy Star." If they don't, it might be a good idea to invest in "Energy Star" certified lighting. #CommunityAction #WeatherizationWorks

#52waystosave When buying new lights, make sure you buy the correct bulb size and brightness to avoid wasting energy on light you don't need. #CommunityAction #WeatherizationWorks

#52waystosave In homes that have a full-sized attic, we always try to put in a total of an R50 (about 14"-16" of insulation) in the attic. Heat rises and goes straight to the attic so we try to prevent that loss. #CommunityAction #WeatherizationWorks

#52waystosave A $4 can of spray foam and/or a tube of caulk can go a long way. A single can, used properly, can reduce the air leakage of a home by 5-10%. #CommunityAction #WeatherizationWorks

#52waystosave Make sure you don't have any pipe leaks or water getting on your insulation. When insulation gets water damage, it's effectiveness dramatically drops and can even harbor mold which is now a health and safety issue. #CommunityAction #WeatherizationWorks
