If you haven’t already get out and vote! Your ballot is a way to support our local community, farms and businesses and the work we do here at Capital Roots. This year has shown everyone the necessity of food security and equality and Election Day is how each of us can yield tremendous influence, letting those we put in office know that access to healthy food is a right for all. #Vote #YourVoteMatters #SupportLocal #ElectionDay
The last several months have further revealed that healthy, affordable food access remains an ongoing challenge for many. However, Capital Roots’ staff is committed to ensuring that all Capital Region residents have convenient outlets to fresh food from our partner farms. While we reflect on the hard work we’ve done so far, we know that the road ahead is long, but with your help, the journey can become easier. Please support Capital Roots’ work with a donation today https://bit.ly/SupportForCapitalRoots #OurWorkIsEssential #MakeADifference #SupportOurWork
Governor Cuomo’s Nourish New York program has provided over 800,000 households with healthy, New York State produce, meats and dairy. At Capital Roots, we saw this first hand and utilized the funding to support small farms and producers, develop new relationships with emergency feeding centers and broaden the reach of our efforts from inner cities to rural communities across the Capital Region. There have been countless success stories in the last few months shared in our foo...d hub about farms that stayed afloat, families that stayed fed, and businesses that adapted and grew because of #NourishNewYork. With the release of new funds, these successes will continue and New Yorkers will be healthier, happier, and stronger as a whole. Thank you Governor Andrew Cuomo and your administration for recognizing the importance of #FoodAccess and the local #FarmEconomy. See more
Our Liz Vigoda Pottery Fundraiser is a wonderful way to support Capital Roots and receive a unique piece in return that you can use for years to come. Liz has hand sculpted and painted dozens of these gorgeous, large salad bowls with 100% of proceeds going to our essential food access work. We will be hosting a new Liz Vigoda inspired fundraiser in the weeks to come, so these bowls will be gone soon. Visit https://bit.ly/PotteryForCapitalRoots if you would like to place an order before the holidays. Every time you use this bowl it serves as a reminder of the work that we do every day to ensure that everyone in the Capital Region has access to healthy and affordable food. #Pottery #Fundraiser #SupportCapitalRoots
