Solomon Nat'l Cemetery received 13,000 "Wreaths-Across- America) in December & good friend & vet, Bill Schaaf (Patriot Guard Rider Ass't NYS Captain), reminded ...me that 3/7/20, the wreaths will be taken down. So, Linda & I took a trip on a beautiful day to visit with our relatives & take photos. This was our First Winter with snow visit. God Bless the Veteran. NOTE: Bill is being honored as this year's "Four Chaplain" Honoree on 2/23rd at 2:30 at Schenectady's First Reformed Church (Lt. Clark V. The FLAGS are raised & ready for viewing on Route 9. Founder, Tom Regan, myself & our committee are very proud to be associated with Please Remember Me Founda...tion. Presently, we honor and respect the memory of 1,898 Capital Region men and women, since World War I, who made the supreme sacrifice for our freedom. Each of our 162 American made Flags, represents an average of 10, who never returned home. TODAY, 162 new flags were raised on Route 9, in Latham and Loudonville (4 miles from Memorial Hospital area to the Intersection of Routes 9 and 155. They are raised by National Grid Volunteers (IBEW Local 97 employees), who volunteer annually since 2013 and after Labor Day will retire these flags. Also, with TrustCo Bank’s support for our present status as a "Foundation" and with the assistance of our Committee and the community and with Lincoln Storage, in storing flags for the winter - Please Remember Me Foundation has a very good TEAM, in making this a successful and worthwhile project. ALL of us, with God’s grace, will ensure that our Capital Region during the pandemic will continue to honor these "Heroes" and all veterans. Our sign is displayed in front of Colonie Memorial Town Hall. Also, when there are more travelers; they'll be able to view these flags on Route 9. NOTE: Gold Star Mother Rev. Charlene Robbins said a prayer for the start of the raising of flags. She was introduced to the National Grid Volunteers. Thank you ALL.
Due to the VIRUS, May's SPOOKY Newsletter IS only a message from TCCCVEV's President Joseph Pollicino
