Our final tribute to #resilientwomen in history is Dr. Blackwell who was a pioneer in the field of medicine. She was the first woman to graduate from medical school in the United States, the first woman to have her name on the British medical register (which allowed her to practice in England too), and she opened the Woman's Medical College in New York. Despite the backlash from both social circles and the medical community, Dr. Blackwell spent her life not only advancing her own career but also helping other women achieve their own. #drelizabethblackwell
