Today, at approximately 11:25 am, the Hamlet Boys were notified for an engine to standby Garden City Headquarters, while they were operating at a gas leak on Adelphi’s campus. The crew, led by Lt. This morning, at approximately 1 am, the Hamlet Boys were notified for an engine to respond to a working house fire on Hilton Ave. in Garden City. The crew from Engine 917, led by Lt. Alfaro, split in two, with Lt. Alfaro and Asst. Chief Geddish conducting a search on the third floor, and Capt. Geddish and FF Bird pulling a line and operating with a truck from Westbury. After a couple of bottle of water the Hamlet Boys went back in and assisted with overhaul in the third floor. Yesterday, at approximately 12:50pm, the CPFD was notified for a FAS Team to respond to a working fire at the Piccola Bussola Restaurant in Mineola. The crew from 912, led by Lt. Nate Augustin, stood by for approximately four hours in case a firefighter was injured and needed to be removed for the building. Thankfully, the Hamlet Boys were never put to work.
