Painless mass of the hard palate: patient reports it present for several years (he is not sure). Something did not look right - his general dentist referred him to our office. Punch biopsy with local anesthesia: Pleomorphic Adenoma of the Palate. Definitive excision with 1cm margins in the OR and palatal obturator to aid in healing and patient comfort. Another great teaching case with the residents of #mtsinaioms #oralsurgery #oralpathology #blessed #oralmaxillofacialsurgery #oralmaxillofacialsurgeon #oralmaxillofacialpathology

Oral Antal Fistula: always lurking around the corner, especially during molar extractions, is a perforation of the Schneiderian (sinus) membrane. Most small ones heal spontaneously. Larger ones need surgical closure/repair ... and that can fail too! ... leading to a communication between the mouth and the Maxillary Sinus. A methodical approach, meticulous planning and execution maximally controlled setting leads to excellent outcomes! Glad to be able to share with young surgeons in training! #mtsinai #mtsinaioms #oralmaxillofacialsurgery #oralsurgery #blessed #ORtuesday #buccalfatpadflap #oralantralcommunication #dentalimplantology #dentalimplants

Supporting the educational mission of my Alma Mater in particularly tough times. Even if you are not a dentist or an alumnus, you can contribute to supporting the next generation of leaders in the field and exceptional healthcare providers. https://givingday.columbia.edu/p/college-of-dental-medicine
