When you bite into a juicy piece of fruit, pick a vegetable from your garden, or stop to smell the colorful flowers of summer, listen for the hum of the honeybees that help the plants grow and make delicious golden honey! The Carousel Word of the Week is BEE. Swipe through the post to learn to say BEE in 4 languages English, Mandarin, Spanish, and French! Here are a few sweet BEE facts to share with your child when you teach them this week's vocabulary word:... Honeybees live in hives, where 3 types of BEES work together. The Queen BEE runs the whole colony and lays the eggs that will become the next generation of bees in the hive. She’s especially busy in the summer months, when she can lay up to 2500 eggs per day! Female Worker BEES build the hive, and forage for foodpollen and nectar from flowers. Drones are male BEES that live in the hive all spring and summer to mate with the queen. Hear the hum as a bee flies by? Honeybees beat their wings 200 times per second and can travel 25km per hour. We need the bees! Unfortunately, many colonies are disappearing. Why not support your local hives by planting flowers that attract and feed bees? Bees love lavender, which is easy to grow, thrives in many climates, and can even live in a potand it smells wonderful all summer! Join us for class at Carousel of Languages, where as part of our theme-based curriculum your child will learn more about the bee lifecycle, and sing bumblebee songs! Early foreign language exposure has many demonstrated cognitive, creative, and academic benefits. Join us at our new home in Shenzhen’s vibrant OCT Harbour for one of our upcoming DISCOVER CAROUSEL eventsand learn what all the buzz is about! Buzz buzz....someone wore their BEE t-shirt to our DISCOVER CAROUSEL event in Shenzhen! . . #carouseloflanguages #foreignlanguages #languages #multilingual #earlychildhood #earlychildhoodeducation #playbasedlearning #earlylearning #education #toddlers #multisensory #foreignlanguageeducation #preschool #uppereastside #shenzhenchina #wordoftheweek #wow #spanish #mandarin #english #French #bees #nature #honey #honeybees #savethebees #lavender See more

Whether you like to jump over waves in the big blue ocean, float around in a tranquil lake, or just dip your toes in a backyard baby pool...summer is for swimming! Swipe through the post to learn this fun vocabulary word in the 4 languages we’re offering during our f...irst year at Carousel Shenzhen. Did you know? Ancient Italian mosaics depict women in early Rome wearing an outfit very much like the modern bikini to the female-only bathhouses. But the BATHING SUIT, as we know it has evolved only over the last 100 years. In the 1700s and 1800s women wore full-length, long-sleeved dresses called bathing gowns to the beach, even in the water. It wasn’t until almost 1920 that the first swimming suitsform-fitting, and allowing free movement of arms and legswere introduced. At that time, even men still wore a suit that had a top and a bottom. Whatever kind of BATHING SUIT you choose, don’t forget your sunscreen! And practice swimming safetywhen young children are in or near the water, be sure an adult stays within an arm’s reach at all times. Now come on in, the water’s fine! . . . . . #carouseloflanguages #foreignlanguages #languages #multilingual #earlychildhood #earlychildhoodeducation #playbasedlearning #earlylearning #education #toddlers #multisensory #foreignlanguageeducation #preschool #summercamp #spanish #mandarin #english #french #uppereastside #shenzhenchina #swimming #pool #lake #ocean #bathingsuit #swimmingsafety #water See more
