Happy (belated) Earth Day! The theme of this year’s Earth Day is protecting species. A recent article published in PeerJ, the Journal of Life & Environmental Sciences, discovered that the Endangered Species Act has prevented the extinction of about 291 species since it was passed in 1973. That means it has saved more than 99% of species under its protection to date! On Earth Day, and every day, take a moment to appreciate the vast biological diversity on earth, and support biodiversity conservation! https://peerj.com/articles/6803.pdf #earthday #biologicaldiversity #peerJ #ESA #CEA #scienceandengineeringforgood
