<3 18 Sept 2020 ~ Chinese American Social Services Center, Inc. hosted our annual Flu Shot Session today. Medical professionals from RiteAid Pharmacy gave flu shots to over forty neighbors and members today! The timely event was sponsored by New York State Assembly Member William Colton. (CASS) welcomed NYPD-62nd Precinct's new Commanding Officer, Captain Tao Chen, our precinct's first Asian American police captain, to our Center today! Joining us were New York State Assembly Members Peter J. Abbate, Jr. and William Colton, New York State District Leader Nancy Tong, AM Abbate's Chief of Staff Irene Chu, New York City Councilmember Justin Brannan's Director of Community Engagement Waiyee Chan, our NYPD-62nd Precinct's NCOs, members of the Bay Parkway Merchants Association, our neighbors and community advocates. <3 16 September 2020 ~ Members from Chinese American Social Services Center, Inc. (CASS) attended a special press conference focusing on the forthcoming Reopening of NYC Restaurants' Indoor Dining services on September 30th. Today's event was hosted by the Federation of Italian American Organizations (FIAO), NYS Assemblymember William Colton, NYS Assembly District Leader and Mr. Colton's Director of Community Relations Nancy Tong, community outreach center of south Brooklyn and restaurant and bar owners in the neighborhoods of Bensonhurst, Dyker Heights and Bath Beach. <3 15 September 2020 ~ Dear Neighbors, Friends, Family, Elected Officials, Community Advocates: The past 6 months have been an unsettling period. Thank you so much for your love and trust in CASS during this pandemic. We strongly believe we Will go through it -- stronger together! Today, Chinese American Social Services Center, Inc. (CASS) is back in business AND we sure have a lot to catch up! Today's agenda is having Census 2020 representatives in our Bensonhurst site for a friendly workshop so that folks from our neighborhood can discusst and complete census applications. Topics discussed were "Prevention of Crime and Scams" by NYPD Officer Nogol; Supreme Court's recent passage of the immigration law a/k/a "Public Charge Rulings" by David Sosa of the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs and "Prevention of Transmittable Illnesses including the newly surfaced coronavirus" by Selby Ho of Extended MLTC healthcare agency.
