Castleton Fire Dept, along with the help of Schodack Landing Fire Company is currently handling a pump out on Lynch Ave. On scene is Cars 1,2,3, 6-1, 6-6, 31-6, and village water dept!

Myself, I'm glad Christmas is over. Let me remind you of why I can be such an ASSHOLE about stuff. I was all of 13 years old when on Christmas morning this fir...e happened in 1972. Many died in the fire, and I knew them all. I was the local paper boy. I wasn't a firemen yet, my father and his friends were, but I was there all day. I helped take burnt body parts from the wreckage in white paper to the ambulances that transported the body parts to the hospital. There really wasn't anything I could do to stop what happened, but I have set my focus on helping others in their time of need. I don't want praise, gifts or sympathy. I want YOU to understand why I am like I am and PLEASE support your local Fire Company. Buy food if they have a fund raiser. Join and help if you can, you don't have to go fight fires, HONEST! We are having a Firemen's food donation pick up for Sunday, Dec. 6th from 3-6 in the Village of Castleton-on-Hudson. Please leave non perishables AND toiletrie...s at end of driveways, sidewalks & firemen (maybe Santa) will be around to pick up items.
