Yesterday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Bishop Douglas Lucia was ordained and installed as the eleventh bishop of the Diocese of Syracuse. We were honored to make candles for this special occasion, although they weren’t the only symbol of the light of Christ Cardinal Dolan pointed out that the name Lucia is derived from the Italian word for light.
