We are so lucky to have a wonderful librarian and PreK 3 teacher on staff. Ms. Christine Traum is innovative, funny and engaging. Here she is entertaining the Kindergarten Group 2 with a story. Today, 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Munro, teamed up with Phys Ed teacher Mr. Longbine for a great lesson with the kids. They had to see if they could match the steps of a dinosaur. Working in socially distance groups of 2, they measured how many dinosaur steps it took to go their "race" route and see how they matched up. It was a joy to watch and so many different lessons in one! CAWB is lucky to have such great teachers and kids! #InvestInCatholicEd #catholicacademystrong

Mask on. Mask off. After School Program begins. PreK 3 year olds start. Group I is in the house. Sounds like a great beginning for the long awaited return to school. All the firsts are completed and we will hopefully find a nice rhythm to our day. We love the sound of children in the school ... that is what this blessed building is for. What an amazing first day for our Group 2 students. Definitely not a typical first day but successful none the less. School during Covid has no manual to follow and we surely had to change a few things. But as always, CAWB staff, students and parents were patient and flexible. We know we will make this work and we pray for the end of restrictions. Till then, we will learn, laugh and love having our students back in school. Welcome Class of 2030! Our Pre-K 4 children started today and what a beautiful group they are! Teacher Katie Bookmiller said there were a few tears, but all in all a great first day. Classrooms ready - check Floors polished - check Sanitizing done - check The long wait is over and it is almost time for our wonderful children to fill our school again! Pre-K starts Wednesday, Sept. 9th and Group 2 begins on Thursday, Sept. 10th. Teachers are reaching out to families via email to inform parents of what to expect and schedule Zoom meetings, etc. CAWB parents, please check your email frequently. Women power was evident at Catholic Academy last night. A great team of parents and 1 alumnus moved excess furniture into storage. Now the hallways are clear and we are getting close to being ready to welcome our kids back! Happy Monday!! We at Catholic Academy of West Buffalo are sure parents have so many questions about the upcoming school year and how to navigate their children through the new school year. We are offering parents 3 different Zoom opportunities to speak with our principal and several teachers. All parents should have received an email with an invitation to attend one of the meetings. The meetings are scheduled for tomorrow, August 18th, at 6:00pm; Wednesday August 19 at 11:...00am and Thursday, August 20th at 5:00pm. We hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having, especially if you are lucky enough to have a pool. Catholic Academy of West Buffalo administrators and teachers are working diligently to sort out our plans for school in the Fall. It is the number one question on everyone's mind. As soon as we have concrete guidelines, we will share them. We pray every day for an end to this pandemic and that people will adhere to guidelines to keep everyone safe. Our school is aching for the sounds of children laughing, playing and learning, but safety of our children and staff is our number one priority. The Class of 2020 graduated tonight and it may be the best memory of the last 4 months. Our class showed grace, poise and character tonight, and especially during the difficult last four months, They may not realize it now but they are a part of history and they will wear it well. We missed you and you missed so much, but tonight, for about an hour, the ugliness of the last 4 months was non-existent and we had smiles, laughter, horns honking and lots of cheers, Have wonderful futures and we hope you keep CAWB in your hearts because you will surely be in ours for a lifetime!
