Despite the days that passed, no bug holes in the cross section of the stipe and a lasting firm form. What an evolutionary strength to fruit after the first frosts to outlast predatory insects! Following advice to cook out the moisture first in a dry pan, I followed a recipe I learned from @eugeniagbone during her "Cooking for Mycologists" online course this week through @nybg Check out this and other recipes at the @fantasticfungi Community Recipes page.
