Francis A. Frannie Altilio Pine City Age 85, passed away Sat. Nov. 28, 2020 at Corning Hospital following a brief illness. Born on Dec. 22, 1934 in Elmira, Francis was the son of the late, Frank & Mary Campanelli Altilio. Frannie loved Pine City and the home that always brought him comfort and joy. A hard-working man, Francis was the co-founder and co-proprietor of Kitchen & Bath Gallery which he operated with his wife and companion of 15 years, Tammy Murdock Altilio for... many years. Don’t always take the easy way was not only his motto but the way he lived his life. He enjoyed Fridays with Friends and attending NHRA Racing events to cheer for his nephew, Frank Altilio. A devoted father, he is also survived by his children, Kathy Willis, Pine City; Mike (Chere) Altilio, Dirftwood, TX; Joe (Cheryl) Altilio, Pine City; and Rick (Angie) Altilio, St. Peters, MO; siblings, AntoinetteNettie (John) Pirozzolo and Gerald A. (Janiene) Altilio; sister-in-law, Evelyn Altilio; ten grandchildren, fourteen great, nieces, nephews, and his new canine puppy, Tucker. Frannie was predeceased by siblings, Pauline Rossi, Angelina Pariso, and Joseph Altilio, and his cherished canine companion, Tanner. All services will be held privately at his family’s convenience. Jeanette L. Long Waverly, NY Age 96 formerly of Caton, NY passed away Tues. Dec. 1, 2020 following a long and full life. Born on Jan. 7, 1924 in Monroe NY she was the daughter of the late, Earl & Genevieve Grassfield (Avery) Connelly. In service to her country, Jeanette served in the Women’s Air Corps during WWII. She married Stanley Long and together they shared a wonderful life until his passing. Jeanette was an active member at the Penn. Ave. United Methodist Church, Caton... Vol. Fire Dept., Elmira Heights Legion, volunteered at the Bath V.A. and was employed at St. Joe’s Hospital as a nurse’s aide. Her first love was that of a homemaker and caring for her family. She is survived by her children, Tom B. Long, Zepherhills, FL and Sue (Barry) Garrison, Corning, NY; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; brother, Jack (Kitty) Connelly; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanette was predeceased by her son, Gary; grandson, Patrick and siblings Madeline Matijka, Barbara Mousaw, Donna Middaugh and Ben Connelly Jr. All services have been handled privately at her family’s convenience. The family would like to thank the staff of Elderwood at Waverly, especially the third-floor unit for their loving care of Jeanette. She will be interred at Forest Lawn Memorial Park beside her husband, Stanley. See more

Stephen Jerry G. Cavaluzzi Horseheads Age 67, formerly of San Francisco, CA and Dade City, FL, passed away on Sun. Nov. 29, 2020 following an illness. Born on Apr. 6, 1953 on Elmira, Stephen was the son of the late, James J. & Marilyn L. Baker Cavaluzzi. The world was his oyster, Jerry had a wonderful sense of humor, he enjoyed travel, making friends and most of all his family. He worked in the hospitality industry and was most recently the general manager for Ramada Inns..., San Francisco, CA. Jerry gravitated toward large cities where there was always something to do before returning home to the town he always called home. Surviving are his loving siblings and their families, William (Pam) Cavaluzzi, Horseheads; Rodney (Karen) Cavaluzzi, Horseheads; and Mark Cavaluzzi, Horseheads; and Barbara Cavaluzzi, Elmira; sister-in-law, Ellen Qualey Cavaluzzi, Corning; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many family friends. In addition to his parents, Jerry was predeceased by a brother, James M. Cavaluzzi in 2008. All services were privately held at his family’s convenience. See more

Harold E. Seek Sechrist Pine City Age 100 passed away Thur. Nov. 26, 2020 following a long and full life. Born on May 16, 1920 in Leone, PA son of the late, Levi & Ida Sechrist. Seek proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII where he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Harold married the love of his life, Lillian H. Page on May 18, 1942 in Maryland and enjoyed 78 wonderful years of marriage. Active in the community, they often filled in for Santa and Mrs. Claus. Ha...rold was a long-time employee of Remington Rand until it closed and retired as a Corrections Officer for the Chemung County Sheriff’s Department. A sportsman, he enjoyed Syracuse Basketball, Mets baseball, NASCAR and was an avid outdoorsman as well. In addition to his cherished wife of 78 years, Lillian Page Sechrist; Harold is survived by their children, Bonnie (Dick) Shook, Elmira; and Bev (Rob) George, Horseheads; daughter-in-law, Barb Sechrist, Dundee; four grandchildren, Annette (Stef) Ringer, Bernedette (Joseph) Rohl, Andrea George, Brittany George; five great grandchildren, Jessica, Katherine, Julia, Valicenti, Maxwell Rohl, and Colton Pratt; sister-in-law, Carolyn Page; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Harold was predeceased by his beloved son, Harold Hal Sechrist, two sisters, Edna and Laura; in-laws, Russell (Kathy) Page, John (Thelma) Page, Kenneth (Sharon) Page, James (Mary) Page, Raymond (Sophie) Page, Ruth (John) Riley, Daisy (Glen) Waight, and Katherine (Stanley) Perkowski. Guests will be received at Pennsylvania Ave. United Methodist Church, 1238 Pennsylvania Ave. where he had been a faithful member, on Thur. Dec. 3, 2020 between the hours of 10 a.m.- 12 (noon). Funeral services will be private. Military honors will be accorded Mr. Sechrist and he will be interred in Woodlawn Cemetery. In accordance with state regulations face masks and social distancing are required. See more
