"Spending even a little private time with the body helps mourners acknowledge the reality of the death and begin to make the arduous transition from having a re...lationship of presence with the person who died to one of memory. And holding any kind of immediate ceremony is helpful, even if it’s online or an intimate graveside committal." - A great read from Alan Wolfelt via The Funeral Leader #MustRead #ReadThis #FuneralsMatter See more

It goes without saying that the average person does not attend funeral services on a regular basis. If you are feeling apprehensive about how to act, what to sa...y, or what to do when meeting with those who are grieving, you are not alone. Never underestimate how much it means for you to simply be present to those experiencing a loss. Your physical presence sends a message of support in their time of need. Similarly, if you are unable to attend, a sympathy card, a telephone call or other form of communication lets these persons know you care. Visit https://www.rememberingalife.com//at/supporting-loved-ones and the Remembering A Life blog (RememberingALife.com/blog) to learn more about supporting grievers.

"Grieving and recovery from pain are processes that require you to take action to progress through them. Deciding to run away and try to hide from the natural p...rogression of these processes will only delay your healing." STATEMENT REGARDING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC Cecere Family Funeral Home 2283 Grand Avenue Baldwin, N.Y. 11510... (516)223-4200 (516)223-9829 www.CecereFamilyFunerals.com Our concern as always is for the health and safety of the families we serve, our family and staff. The Cecere Family would like to let the community know what we have learned and what our procedures will be for the foreseeable future regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. 1) In addition to our regular cleaning and disinfection procedures, we have and will continue to regularly disinfect all public surfaces such as door handles, armrests, handrails etc. 2) Scheduling of visitations, services and gatherings will follow recommended guidelines set by the CDC, and state and local authorities, always taking into consideration each family’s individual needs. These are fluid and seem to be changing as we progress. 3) We are ready willing and able to utilize technology and live stream funeral services as desired. 4) We have been attending conference calls and webinars hosted by the National Funeral Director’s Association, the N.Y.S. Funeral Director’s Association and the CDC. As more information becomes available, we are in constant contact with these agencies so we can disseminate info as it becomes available. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call on us. God Bless and be safe, The Cecere Family
