CeCe's Wool Farm Store 11.12.2020

Pam Peters shared this photo in the CeCe’s Wool Knit A Long group and I see so many possibilities! She holds two fingering weight yarns together and switches to another color when transitioning to another section. And here is her ‘recipe’: cast on 100 st, 2X2 rib with size 5 needles. Knit with size 7 needles until height you want is achieved. Start decrease, K8 K2Tog, K a round, K7 K2Tog, K a round, keep repeating until you get to 10 st, then K2Tog to 5 st. Pull yarn through remaining stitches and tie off. Add a Pom Pom if you like.

We have a few beautiful pelts just in time for the holidays. These come from the same local farm. Price depends on size and ranges from $125 to $200.

I love sewing up these little cat toys! The fabric is fancy upholstery fabric from sample books that were set to be discarded. I fill them with wool and catnip grown and dried on the farm and add a braided tail. Each one is different. Cats love them! I made some extra long ones for the holidays.

Our sharing table space has become a 'thing'. My neighbor, friend and fellow shepherd, Virginia Scholomitti, has brought in a whole bunch of books and magazines (Spin Off and Ply) to share with others. Thank you Virginia! As noted before, the books, patterns, magazines and sometimes yarn is free in the vestibule of the shop. Lots are in great condition and would make a lovely gift for you or someone you know or to encourage someone to try a new craft.

Patty Johnston has really outdone herself. She made these three sample hats for the shop. First hat is Malabrigo Caracol with our new Pom Poms, the other two are CeCe’s Wool sock yarn in Cherries Jubilee and Over The Rainbow with Green Meadows. Of course she told me the patterns but I don’t have my notes with me. I will add them later. What’s your favorite hat pattern? Please post a pic of it.
