THIS COURSE IS OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS IN NEW YORK AS WELL AS THOSE OUTSIDE THE METROPOLITAN AREA 15 CE Credits for Licensed Psychoanalysts and Social Workers This course presents psychoanalytic perspectives on the treatment of trauma. The reconstruction of object relations, an integration with intersubjectivity, and somatization are addressed in light of a redefinition of trauma. Various kinds of traumatic events are examined in terms of their roots in normal development and their role in the etiology of difficulties such as depression, anxiety, addictions, and eating disorders and their contribution to the formation of character structure and relationship style.
