Tonight at 7pm, in support of the virtual world premier of Debra Ann Byrd's BECOMING OTHELLO: A Black Girl’s Journey, we are proud to present a unique panel discussion that brings together five acclaimed actresses who took on and mastered the challenge of playing Shakespeare's Othello. The evening's panel will be lead by Moderator Brenda Thomson, AZ Humanities Executive Director and features panelists from across the nation, including: Fran Bennet, Marishka S. Phillips, Debra Ann Byrd, Jennifer Lanier, and Phedre N’Goua, who will share their thoughts, feelings and varied experiences of playing Othello.

Lead by Moderator Mary Alexander Way, Executive Director of Southwest Shakespeare Company, the evening will feature the uber-talented actor/director/teaching artists Tina Packer, Trezana Beverley, and Lisa Wolpe, and Harlem Shakespeare Festival’s award winning costume designer Gail Cooper-Hecht as panelists for this lively insightful discussion.
