The Centers at St. Camillus 05.11.2020

UPDATE! The votes are in and The Centers at St. Camillus' entry was chosen as one of the WINNERS in this year's Pumpkin Decorating Contest sponsored by The Hearth! Congratulations to our very talented Social Services Team and to all of those who joined in the fun!! Our very talented Social Services Department was just batty over the idea of entering The Centers at St. Camillus in a Pumpkin Decorating Contest sponsored by The Hearth senior living community in Syracuse. Our t...eam of skilled pumpkin-carvers led by Dawn Loosen include Karen Antczak, Cathy Goldthwait, Maxine Phipps, Melissa Sardella, Lori Sherry and Mary Wassel, who brought their creativity to the table and turned two ordinary pumpkins into a gourd-geous camper being towed by a car (Cinderella’s Godmother has nothing on this group!). With all-weather cucumber tires, interior lighting, privacy curtains and attention to detail, we think our entry is a Boo-In. Wish us luck and have a safe and Happy Halloween! See more

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE CENTERS AT ST. CAMILLUS ON MONDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2020: Dear St. Camillus Family Members and Friends,... Because the safety and well-being of your loved-ones, our residents and patients, is paramount, we’re sorry to inform you that we will temporarily not be able to allow Limited In-Person Visitations due to a recent positive diagnosis for COVID-19 in the facility. Following the NYS Department of Health Guidelines, visitation must be discontinued for a 14 day minimum period if there is a new positive result. Contingent upon continued negative testing results from employees and residents in the coming weeks, the earliest we anticipate resuming Limited In-Person Visitations is sometime during the week of November 2, 2020. We will alert you with the next potential onsite visit date. We are very sorry for having to postpone these visits, but will let you know when Limited In-Person Visitations can resume via our website (at www.st-camillus.org) and our Facebook page (The Centers at St. Camillus). Window Visits will continue to be available. If you would like to schedule a Window Visit with a resident or patient, please contact Rachel Benton at 315-703-0740. In the meantime, St. Camillus' Special Delivery and Perishable Food Drop-Off Programs are still in effect so that you may bring your loved-one limited perishable food, non-perishable snacks and personal items. Thank you for your understanding of this matter. From The Centers at St. Camillus

IMPORTANT NEW INFORMATION REGARDING VISITATIONS IN NYS NURSING HOMES Tuesday, September 15, 2020 The NYS Department of Health is changing its regulations regarding visitations with residents and patients in skilled nursing facilities or nursing homes later this week. ... Effective beginning September 17, 2020, once a new COVID diagnosis is made in either a resident or an employee, all visitations must now be discontinued for 14 days, rather than the 28 days originally mandated, and the facility must remain free of any additional COVID diagnoses during that time. The Centers at St. Camillus recently identified an employee who tested positive for COVID on September 11, 2020, therefore St. Camillus cannot allow any visitors until the 14 day waiting period passes and we remain 100% free of any new COVID diagnoses throughout that time period. Thank you for your understanding of this matter. The Centers at St. Camillus

CLARIFICATION REGARDING VISITATION AT THE CENTERS AT ST. CAMILLUS: September 10, 2020... Please be advised, the recent revision that NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo has set forth in regard to visitation only applies to Assisted Living Facilities and does not apply to Skilled Nursing Facilities or nursing homes, such as St. Camillus. We still need to comply with the 28 day window. If there continues to be no new positive COVID-19 cases identified in our residents or staff for the next week, St. Camillus may begin limited visitations later this month. If so, we’ll notify residents, their families and friends through our website at www.st-camillus.org, our The Centers at St. Camillus Facebook page, and automated phone messaging. Thank you!
