#TBT This past year we crowned three Apogee Investment Management (the AIM) Champions! Men: Alec Bard (New Hartford NY) ran away with the title with a 14-shot victory in the 64th annual event. Women: Emily Gresham (Binghamton NY) beat defending champion Lauren Cupp by one stroke to win the 30th annual Women’s Championship on July 13.... Senior: Tom Fletcher (Tuscarora GC) took home the Senior Championship title Aug. 4 in a rain-shortened event. Despite the snow, it's never too early to start thinking about playing in the AIM next year. The #CNYPGA will announce the 2021 dates Jan. 15 on its website so stay tuned!

We're wrapping up the week with our 2020 #CNYPGA Junior Players of the Year: Aidan Farmer (Boys) and Lucia Chen (Girls) The 16-year-old Farmer, of Baldwinsville, placed in the top 10 in all 14 events on the Junior Tour this season including six first place finishes. The 16-year-old Chen, of Horseheads, won her age group at the Junior Tour Championship and was fifth at the CNY PGA Junior Open.... Congratulations to Dan Molter (The Cavalry Club), the 2020 #CNYPGA Bradley's Jewelers Assistant Player of the Year presented by OMEGA. Molter won two of the four Assistant events this season and finished third in the other two. He earned 500 points while winning his fourth straight Assistant Player of the Year award. Congratulations to Mark Tucker (Cazenovia Country Club), the 2020 #CNYPGA Bradley's Jewelers Section and Senior Player of the Year presented by OMEGA. Tucker finished in the top 8 or better in all 13 Section events he entered this year. Tucker accumulated 1,342.5 points over the course of the season to win Section Player of the Year honors over four-time defending POY Dennis Colligan (Cazenovia Golf Club). It is Tucker's third career Section Player of the Year award (2015, 20...12). In addition to picking up Player of the Year honors, Tucker is the winner of the Bradley’s Jewelers Cup. Tucker also won Senior Player of the Year honors with 1,641.67 points in 13 events. He was the Senior POY in 2015. Tucker came in second in three of the Section's majors: the Golf Max CNY Open, the CNY PGA Championship and the Players/Head Pro Championship. We wrap up our 2020 CNY PGA Special Award Winners with another award for Section hall of famer Jack Conger (Links at Erie Village) who earned the 2020 #CNYPGA Player Development Award for his exemplary contributions and achievements. He also won the Player Development Award in 2014. Conger is noted for creating a positive atmosphere while monitoring his players, young and old, as they develop and improve their skills. In addition to Conger's Player Development Award, we also honored Conger with the Teacher and Coach of the Year award. Continuing to highlight our 2020 Special Award Winners Congratulations to Ryan Hammerle (Onondaga Golf & Country Club) who earned #CNYPGA Merchandiser of the Year (Private Clubs). Hammerle's second full season at OnondagaGCC was a busy one. It began with organizing and stocking a newly renovated pro shop. Then when Covid-19 abruptly changed the way pro shops did business, Hammerle used a multi-media approach in communicating and marketing, all in an effort to meet the needs ...of his members safely. He came up with several creative ways to engage his membership including videos from his pro shop to present the latest equipment and clothing. We have four section members participating in the 32nd Senior PGA Professional Championship today at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla. The second cut will be made after 54 holes of play to the low 70 scorers and ties. First two rounds are on the Ryder Course.
