It's happening!!! Just got a sneak peak into the Greater Good Grocery, opening on January 4, 2021 on Binghamton's northside and former food desert. Shoutout to The Broome County Council of Churches for the three years of planning, meeting, and fundraising to make it work!

Summary of how the new CARES Act will impact non-profits.

You can start calling and picking up the bags on Monday October 26th. The bags will be available until they are gone.

Arts and cultural organizations are having a tough time during the pandemic. Many have shut their doors entirely, others are seeking new revenue streams after canceling exhibits and performances. So we instituted a $100,000 arts grants cycle this year. Earlville Opera House Arts Center just received a $15,000 grant for renovation of one of their store fronts, bringing much needed rental income to the organization.

Our Board of Directors just awarded $94,151 to area organizations; bringing this year's total funded in the region to $2.4 million. We couldn't have done it without our generous donors, and the agencies meeting the needs during these very challenging times.

The Andes Public Library is pleased to announce that we have received a grant of $7,500.00 from the CFSCNY COVID-19 Response Fund, administered by the Community... Foundation of South Central New York. As with many businesses and non profits, our fundraising efforts have been severely hampered this year and our construction project exhausted our reserves, so we are extremely grateful for this operations grant so that we can continue our service to Andes and the surrounding communities. Today was our board meeting and we approved $454,200 in grant awards to local nonprofits. We love libraries and know how important they are to small communities which is why we awarded Andes Public Library $7,500 in operating funds.

We’re all set up at 85 walnut for distribution from 1:30-2:30. Just waiting for fruits and veggies from the Broome County Regional Farmers Market. The Racial Justice and Equity Fund welcomes proposals from qualified non-profit 501c.3 organizations that seek to provide projects or programs that build community dialogue, increase the capacity of Black-led organizations supporting historically underserved communities, promote racial justice and equity, and counteract systemic racism, in the region served by the Foundation. New or established organizations, programs and projects serving BIPOC populations, are all invited to apply.
