In Ithaca, Yom Kippur begins at 6:36pm tonight and ends tomorrow night at 7:33pm. Here's a quick primer for the basic laws of Yom Kippur. May we all be inscribed and sealed in the book of life. https://www.chabad.org//je/How-to-Celebrate-Yom-Kippur.htm
Chabad Club President Elias is in Crown Heights, picking out his etrog for Sukkot!
Happy Rosh Hashanah! Wherever you are spending the High Holidays, please do not forget to fulfill the Mitzvah of hearing the Shofar. If you are in Ithaca, you can stop by Chabad any time on Sunday for an outdoor, socially-distant shofar blowing and a piece of honey cake...just knock on our door! If you are somewhere else, it is almost certain that a local Chabad representative is available to ensure that you can hear the Shofar in a safe, convenient, and meaningful way. Reach out to us directly (before sunset on Friday) if you would like help connecting with Chabad in your area for Rosh Hashanah. Wishing us all a sweet new year!
Rabbi Josh will be holding a late-night ZOOM Farbrengen from 11pm-12:30am before the Selichos prayers, which prepare us for the High Holidays. Check the comments for a link and the password. https://www.chabad.org///4350/jewish/What-Are-Selichot.htm
In the waning hours of Tisha B'Av, all are welcome to join Rabbi Josh in studying the legends of the painful final days of the second Temple era. Delve into the Talmud as we discover how "Jerusalem was destroyed because of Kamtza and Bar Kamtza. Tor Malka was destroyed because of a rooster and a hen. Beitar was destroyed because of a wagon shaft." TONIGHT: 5:30-6:30 PM, EASTERN Join Zoom Meeting https://ithaca.zoom.us/j/97705334903... Meeting ID: 977 0533 4903 Passcode: Krisch
