TGIF. Time to unplug and reconnect The Torah tells us to begin each day with the simple words of Modeh Ani: We thank Gd not only for restoring our souls and giving us a new day, but for putting faith in us that we will do the right thing. Gd places us upon this earth to accomplish a unique mission in our surroundings, and so we are accountable to G-d. By taking a moment each morning to remember this, it helps us focus on the blessings we have and on the great many thing...s we can and must accomplish despite and not just despite, but because of the chaos raging around us. Blessings for a peaceful and beautiful Shabbat Light up the world today with your Shabbat candles at 4:28pm #shabbatshalom

Tonight we light the 5th candle and now we have more branches on our Menorah that are lit vs the unlit ones - and it only increases from here Let’s keep spreading light and joy by adding in acts of goodness and kindness, each day a little more #nightnumberfive #happychanukah #chabadtribeca #mylittleschoolnyc
The beauty of light is that a drop dispels a lot of darkness. Although our actions sometimes may seem too small to make a difference, like the lights of the Menorah, the little good that we do adds a lot of brightness to the world. May the lights of our Menorah illuminate our lives and our surroundings, and may the collective light of all our Menorahs this Chanukah bring an end to all darkness, forever.... Light up NYC with your Shabbat candles At 4:10pm AFTER lighting your Chanukah candles
Tomorrow is the 19th day of the Hebrew month of Kislev, known as the New Year of Chassidism. It is the anniversary of the very first Chabad Rebbe Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi’s release from prison in communist Russia, where he was imprisoned solely for spreading Judaism. On this day, the efforts to disseminate the teachings of Chassidism were strengthened manifold. It is because of this special day that today and every day, we merit to benefit from the beautiful mystical teachings of Chassidus which fuel our purpose and mission to make the world a brighter place, our ability to perceive spirituality in the physical and enable us make this world a home for G-dliness Light up NYC with your Shabbat candles at 4:10pm today

We achieve greatness by handing over our values onto the next generation and empowering them to go and build the future. -Rabbi Jonathan Sacks OBM This week’s Torah portion is called Toldot, or generations. It tells of Isaac’s marriage, the birth of Jacob and Esau and the blessings Isaac gave to Jacob, passing over the baton of Judaism to the next generation. With the inspiration from this week’s Torah portion, let us be mindful about the legacy we are passing on to our children, to carry through the next generations. By instilling in them strong Jewish values and staying the course our legacy, and mission will live on vibrantly, building a bright future. Light up NYC with your Shabbat candles this evening at 4:16pm
