Letter from VEM It's time for our annual Village Ecumenical Ministries Crop Walk in Carthage. The walk will be held on Sunday 29 October. It will begin at the VEM Food Pantry, 495 S. Washington St. Carthage N. Y. 13619. Registration is at 1:30PM with the walk beginning at 2PM. Local churches have registration/ sponsor packets. Dear friends! I will be out of town Sunday afternoon through Tuesday for a provisional elders retreat. Pray for me to learn new things and be more ready and well equipped to serve the church of Christ and also for Eden who will not have mom for 3 days. Love you my friends. During his days on earth, Christ offered prayers and requests with loud cries and tears as his sacrifices to the one who was able to save him from death. He was heard because of his godly devotion. Although he was a Son, he learned obedience from what he suffered. (Hebrews 5:7-9) The scriptures made me think about, 'How much deeply and desperately have I prayed for unsaved souls?' I pray that the Spirit of God would give us a burning heart to intercede for unsaved souls aroun...d us. Everyone needs Jesus Christ and salvation through him. Verse 9 says that obedience is learned by our own suffering and endurance. Jesus was a Son, but he learned obedience from his suffering. Friends! Let us learn how to truly obey the Lord, God through what we are going through. Blessings to all!

Beaver Falls UMC Lydia's Lasagna The Beaver Falls United Methodist Church (corner of Beaver Falls Road and LeFevre Street) will be having Lydia's Lasagna dinner on Thursday, September 21 from 4:30pm until gone. The meal will consist of lasagna, garlic bread, salad, and brownies. We will again offer eat-in or drive-thru. Prices are $9.00 for adults and drive-thru meals, $5.00 for children with under 5 being free.

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet, he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (Hebrews 4:15-16) We will find grace to help us when WE NEED IT MOST! May the Grace of God be with you now and forever!
