Three days left to donate and support Sara Morawetz's latest endeavor entitled étalon, in which she has embarked on a performative walk along the Meridian arc from Dunkerque to Barcelona, retracing the journey of two French astronomers in 1792 tasked by Napoleon in oder to determine a new universal standardle mètre-étalon; the metre. Her journey will span 1,400 km and entail 100 days of walking, surveying and scientific measurement. "This act of homage, endurance and absur...dity is a study of both the length and the lengths taken by science in order to establish a standard and how these standards can be examined and eschewed in the pursuit of art." Iván Sikic: 15,000 ft Veiled of Virility of Love These images were shot during Sikic's research trip in Colquijirca, a remote town 15,000ft above sea level in the Peruvian Andes.
