Just released and FYI: This message is being sent to all Chautauqua Institution staff, property owners, and anyone who has scanned in at the Main Gate as having visited the Chautauqua Institution grounds between July 4 and July 7, 2020. A member of Chautauqua Institution Visual Arts staff has tested positive for COVID-19. The following information is provided to advise you of the timeline of this case, preventative actions taken, and steps moving forward.... The staff member, following the correct and required protocol, notified Chautauqua Institution Human Resources on Wednesday, July 8, of contact over the July 4 weekend with a relative who later tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member was directed to not report to work, to get a COVID-19 diagnostic test, and to quarantine until further notice. Staff members having direct contact were also directed to go home, to quarantine, and to secure COVID-19 diagnostic tests. The facility they work in, the Strohl Art Center, was closed to the public and remains closed. The exposed staff member was advised today of a positive COVID-19 diagnostic test. No other staff test results have been received to date. We have been in touch with Chautauqua County representatives and we understand they will be enacting their contact tracing protocols.

For anyone that is need of a mask at Chautauqua Institution, the Chautauqua Fire Department Auxiliary is making them to hand out for free. Please take one of you need it but be respectful. We appreciate their efforts and willingness to help out. These can be gotten on the grounds @36 Hurst.
