This. This is why we listen to suggestions! The thoughtful Melanie Hoopes suggested we gather foods/donations for the Election Day Volunteers at the MED! She eagerly contacted local businesses for coffee (Stewart’s) and pastry donations (Price Chopper). The PTA proudly purchased 10 pizzas from Eatzzeria to fill the bellies of the persons donating their time today. We love to support our school, volunteers within our school and community. Our first PTA meeting will be held on Tuesday, 11/3 @ 6pm via zoom. Link will be provided! We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we are limited to what we can and cannot offer this year. We hope you can join us virtually!

The PTA is putting together a Halloween themed Spirit Week from 10/26 - 10/30! Flyers will be sent home when printed sometime this week. Remote students teachers will be reaching out to families also! Keep an eye out in your child's email (remote) and backpack (in person) for the flyer. Happy Halloween!

Last call for pick up location to browse backpacks before School begins! Tomorrow, 9/3 from 5-5:30 I will be in the parking lot at Crellin. After tomorrow, the remaining backpacks will go back into storage at the school and an email can be sent to [email protected] to arrange an additional time. For those families who have requested school supplies for MED students, the supplies are bagged and ready for pick-up tomorrow from 5-5:30 as well. (I did send email reminders too)

Backpack Update!!

The PTA graciously received these backpacks to offer to our current and incoming students. Some of the character backpacks are shown. Many other solid color option available. Please email [email protected], reply to this post or send us a Facebook message to arrange time for pick up.

Items collected thus far! We will provide actual totals of items collected once we complete our shoppjng from our donated checks. We already have several THOUSANDS of items!!! . 12-4 today in the MED Parking Lot!! **Reminder** If your family could benefit from supplies please send an email to [email protected] and we will gladly make arrangements to get the supplies to you!

This Sunday 08/09 from 12-4pm is our last Drive-thru collection event! Where: MED Parking Lot Does this mean our drive stops? NOPE! We share this news because our local neighbors are joining together for a great cause! Today officially begins our School Supply Drive from 4-8 in the MED parking lot. Little Nest Daycare in Chatham Center donated several hundred dollars of School supplies and gave us a good start!... Yesterday, we received word that Bimi’s Cheese Shop in Chatham is graciously donating $1000 to our cause! The PTA will be able to fill mulitple carts of supplies! An extra box of crayons, left over folders from last school year or extra loose leaf paper will ALL help! As a community, we can support our staff and students as we navigate a new way of life with education. Please share this post!

The Chatham MED PTA continues their ongoing support of our students and educational staff. Although the outlook of how education will be instructed is uncertain, we would still like to make sure all Teachers and students have access to the supplies needed for the upcoming year. The PTA is holding two drive-thru drop off school supply events in the MED parking lot (to the left). If you are able to purchase one or more of the items from the flyer, I know our educators and famil...ies who may struggle getting the supplies would greatly appreciate it. After surveying the staff, we have compiled a list of items either they tend to run out of quickly or purchase out of pocket. **Please note** Social distancing must remain in effect with both events. Masks must be worn and please remain in your cars. What a fun idea!

Hello friends and neighbors! The Chatham MED PTA got the OK to plan and host a School Supply Drive. This drive with directly support our teachers and students throughout the upcoming school year at the MED. We are still in the early stages of planning but would like to ask for a suggestion. Where in or around Chatham would be a good spot to have a drop off location? I will more than likely be at the table/box along with others at collection to personally thank the donor. I am looking into the fairgrounds as a possible option, but other ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Ask yourselves this.. 1) If there were a fire, does my child(ren) remember what to do? 2) Do we have a plan in place? 3) Is 911 posted near the phone along with your home address?... I ask myself these things and sadly, cannot answer yes to all. SO! I encourage you and your family to discuss, create and practice a fire escape routine! Please feel free to print the document. With so much uncertainty lately in regards to many things.. the PTA can assure you we are still in planning/preparation mode to have another fantastic school year in 2020-2021! As of now, book fair is still open from 10-2. All activities as of Monday are canceled per notification from our Superintendent, Dr. Sal DeAngelo.

Good Morning! The PTA is in desperate need of a volunteer for our 8-10 and 10-12 shift tomorrow morning as we had a volunteer cancel. We expect tomorrow morning to be our busiest time as the classrooms will be down to browse. Please let us know ASAP if you are able to help! Thank you!

Spring Book fair is all set up and ready to open tomorrow from 2-6! Thursday is 8-7 with Ice Cream Social 6-7. No school Friday. Saturday 10-2. What’s new!? We now have a $4.99 and below table set up for your convenient bargain shopping!

THE PTA began reading month last week with a week long Read-A-Thon! Many of our classrooms participated and we have one winning class from each grade level! The school collectively read 1,596 books in ONE WEEK! Third Graders read a total of 2,543 Chapters also in ONE WEEK! ... Each class/teacher will receive a $30 shopping spree to the book fair which opens this Wednesday 2-6! Congrats to...
