He was Chelsea Community Church’s pastoral counselor for 11 years (2004-2015).He previously served as assistant pastor for development at the Metropolitan Community Church of Hartford. He is now learning and development lead for the New York City Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications. He earned his M.Div. degree at New York Theological Seminary. Today at noon est., Rabbi Jill Hausman (Reformed Jewish) will be our guest speaker. She is the spiritual leader of Congregation Ezrath Israel, also known as the Actors Temple. Before coming to the 47th Street shul in 2006, she was with the Boro Park Progressive Synagogue in Brooklyn, first as a cantor and then as assistant rabbi. This Sunday our pastoral counselor, Rev. Joseph J. Nicholson (American Fellowship Church), will be our (zoom) speaker. He is also a chaplain with the EMS division of the New York City Fire Department. Ordained by the American Fellowship Church, a nondenominational Protestant church in 2017, Rev. Nicholson remains active in the Episcopal church. He is a licensed lay Eucharistic minister in the Episcopal diocese of New York and has been a lay service leader at St. Peter’s since... 2014. He received his master of divinity degree from Union Theological Seminary in 2016 and is currently enrolled in the master of sacred theology program there. He expects to receive that degree in 2020. Before beginning his seminary studies, he was an entrepreneur who developed several financial services enterprises and an apparel company that sold its products via the Internet. Today's guest speaker will be Rev. Dr. Julie Faith Parker (United Methodist), associate professor of Biblical studies at General Theological Seminary. She previously taught Old Testament at Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio, where she founded the Trinity Prison Project. She has also taught at Yale Divinity School, Colby College, Fordham University and Andover Newton Theological School. She has taught in the New York Theological Seminary program in Sing Sing Prison. Before beginning her doctoral studies she was a congregational pastor and then a university chaplain. She holds a Ph.D. in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible from Yale University as well as an S.T.M. from Yale Divinity School and an M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary.

This Sunday Rev. Elizabeth A. Perry (United Church of Christ) will be our guest speaker. She is a church consultant and online trainer, as well as serving on the faculty of several NYC colleges. She was the pastoral counselor for Chelsea Community Church for three and a half years. She was a pastor of churches in New York and Pennsylvania for two decades and is a frequent guest preacher.
