Chenango Valley Home has an immediate opening for a 10:30pm-6:30am, overnight Personal Care Aide. Duties include nightly rounds, medication assistance, laundry, and other duties as assigned. We continue to celebrate the little things and keep looking forward. This week the residents enjoyed making Halloween cards, and painting pumpkins. Today we ended our pumpkin season with an afternoon social, and a well deserved thank you to Randy, and Bill for all their hard work. Have a great weekend.

The results are in! With a 5th place finish the pumpkin came in at 1,423.5 lbs.!! Way to go Randy!!!! The residents are being told at dinner right now and cant wait to congratulate you!

Our last Great Pumpkin is loaded and ready for weigh-in on Saturday. This one is going to East Haddam, Ct and is estimated to weigh 1,500 lbs! It will be traveling with another pumpkin that Randy and his Father grew at home. Good luck Randy!

In this weeks Paint & Sip we were all about getting ready for Fall. Look for these in the Chenango Valley Home Art Show 2021!

In today’s Fun With Science, Laura had the residents use milk, soap and food coloring to make colorful works of art. They also got messy making moon dough! Roll up your sleeves and have fun!

We were off by almost but that is still a beautiful pumpkin!!! Way to go Randy! 973lbs. Safe travels home! Update: Randy’s pumpkin placed 10th! Congratulations!

Our #2 pumpkin is loaded and ready for the weigh in on Saturday in Colchester, Vermont. Measurements indicate it is approximately 1,072 pounds.

Congratulations Anna, Recipient of the Empire State association ALL STAR AWARD Anna has done a phenomenal job in spite of the COVID-19 restrictions placed on our residents and community. She has kept moral up for residents and staff, has worked with families to coordinate virtual experiences that maintained a strong connection between residents and their families. She has continued to conduct activities within the guidelines s that residents continued to experience a new normal that was very close to their usual routine. Despite the challenges she continues to come to work each day with a smile and ready to make residents happy.

What a great time we had on yesterday’s country drive. We took the ladies to Gentle Breeze Alpaca Farm in Burlington Flats. They loved seeing the baby alpacas up close and personal! We will definitely be heading back for another visit with some more residents so they can all enjoy it.

On Friday they loaded up our smallest pumpkin and off it went to be weighed in Putnam, Connecticut. Randy Palmer has planned all along for them to be weighed at the national level so he was excited to get the first one loaded and on the road. The residents were so happy to be able to watch the process and anxiously awaited the results. The pumpkin came in at 968.5 lbs and put him in 12th place as of Saturday!! We still have two more to be weighed. Check back soon for those results!

We had a great time out on the patio today. Music, beer, wine, hot dogs, chips and s’mores! Some of the residents had fun getting temporary tattoos and everyone loved getting a close up look at the pumpkins. We are not ready for fall to come, but we are ready to carve up all of the little (normal size) pumpkins for Halloween!

Still growing daily!! We’ve contacted a couple different news stations and The Evening Sun to hopefully spread the word. The residents really want to see them make the news!! Keeping our fingers crossed!
