This week, our families gathered for a beautiful pumpkin carving in Prospect Park. Parents are part of the Chickpeas community just as much as our children are. Thanks to everyone for coming out!

We have been discussing community over the last week! We use a working definition that a community is a group of people who work, learn, eat and play together. We discussed that you CAN be in community with people who might not be in the same place as you (like our Zoom learners), but that we are still learning and working together as a community. We talked about how communities keep each other safe ("I keep you safe, you keep me safe!") and can work together to change things in the community that they don't like.

Chickpeas was so excited to open its doors last week after 6 months of closure! It was not an easy task and was made possible because of our strong community. We want to thank all of our wonderful parents and teachers for all the hard work it took to reopen our school safely. We are looking forward to watching our children grow and develop together this school year.
