Eating Disorders Awareness and Screening Week (Feb. 24March 1) This week is all about sharing your personal stories, commemorate those who are in recovery, and inspire those who are still battling with the disease. Although the term eating is in the name, eating disorders are about more than food. They’re complex mental health conditions that often require the intervention of medical and psychological experts to alter their course.... In the United States alone, an estimated 20 million women and 10 million men have or have had an eating disorder at some point in their life. So help us spread the word by sharing your story with us and the community!!!

~~International Prenatal Infection Prevention Month~~ February is a worldwide observance month to promote awareness of infections transmitted from mother to baby. Prenatal infections include bacterial or viral illnesses that can be passed from a mother to her baby during pregnancy or during the delivery process. In 2016, it was estimated that approximately 2.6 million infants died within the first month of life, and approximately 700,000 infants die each year due to infectiou...s diseases. Due to the serious consequences for mother and baby, prenatal infection prevention is a critical component of the broader maternal and child health strategy to ensure that mothers and babies survive and thrive. Maternal immunization is an effective way to prevent some infections, we highly encourage mothers who are expecting to get the necessary immunization to promote the health of a new life!! Please contact your PCP or your OB-GYN on immunization regarding prenatal infection!!!

This week is Heart Failure Awareness Week!!! Heart failure is a condition in which the heart can't pump enough blood to meet the body's needs. In some cases, the heart can't fill with enough blood. In other cases, the heart can't pump blood to the rest of the body with enough force. About 6.5 million adults in the US has heart failure, certain medical conditions and personal habits can put you at higher risk of heart failure such as:... - obesity - diabetes - high blood pressure - heart disease - tobacco use - excessive alcohol use - lack of physical activity - eating food that is high in fat, cholesterol and sodium We want to raise awareness regarding this matter, and remind all of us the importance of regular visit to your primary care physician. ~~Working with your Heart Failure Team~~ 1. Keep all your appointments with your healthcare provider. 2. Bring all your pill bottles including those you buy over-the-counter to your appointments to review with your healthcare provider. 3. Ask questions. Do not leave the appointment without understanding what has been said. 4. Call your healthcare provider to report symptoms.
