The Council continuously works to build a great morale with its employees. Our STAR committee goes above and beyond to make everyone feel valued, by recognizing birthdays, anniversaries, and providing special treats such as this. Thank you STAR committeeYOU ROCK! #cccw #teamwork
If only our babies could advocate for themselves but they can’t. They need you to speak up for them. ADVOCACY takes time and effort. And the more people involved, the better. Join us today at 3:30pm for a virtual legislative visit with Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick. https://zoom.us/j/96123883909 Interested in speaking with Westchester’s state delegation via virtual meetings in the coming months? CG Industrial to the rescue! Though the weather outside is brutal they are on the road helping us get more supplies out to programs in need. The Council has purchased a small amount of PPE and cleaning supplies to help programs stay clean and safe.
Attention Child Care Providers: We are excited to assist families with infants and toddlers in need of basic supplies. We are distributing kits that will include towels, sheets, bibs, diapers and other supplies. To request a kit, child care providers or directors must complete the nomination form on behalf of parents. To nominate a family and for more information, visit: https://www.childcarewestchester.org//239-free-infant-todd... #cccw #westchesterchildcare #earlyed #westchester #westchesterfamilies #daycare #childcare #infant #toddler
Kathy Halas recently testified to the Westchester delegation of the New York State Assembly. The #NYSbudget needs $485m to help people get back to work, improve access to infant/toddler care, and increase compensation for the poorly paid workforce. We also need to ensure we can deploy incoming federal child care funds quickly, by partnering with the state network of county social services departments... so parents and child care providers get the assistance they need. If you're ready to add your voice and help us #savechildcare, send us a message. #fundchildcare #newyorkstatebudget #ChildCareIsEssential #westchesterchildcare #childcare #daycare #workingparents New York State Assembly Majority Westchester County Government Andrew Cuomo New York State Senate Westchester County Board of Legislators Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul

Happy Hanukkah! If you include your pets in the festivities, we'd love to see a photo as part of our Dog4Kids vs Cats4Kids Competition. Post them below and on Team CCCW's page here: www.fundduel.com/cccw2020 #catperson #catsrule #dogperson #dogsrule
Are you prepared to address racism in your classroom? NAEYC.org recently published a two part series which includes many different resources on addressing race, discrimination, and promotion of self-identity. One highly recommended way to address such issues is reading and discussing carefully selected picture books. Using multicultural children's books that focus on sensitive topics requires consideration of children's ages to determine developmentally appropriate ways to present the content. We can help connect early care and education and school age programs in Westchester with job seekers. On our Careers page, we post job openings and review candidates looking for work in the child care industry: https://www.childcarewestchester.org//careers-in-child-care
County Budget - Action Needed! We can help you figure it out - just download our guide and checklist: https://www.childcarewestchester.org/covid-19. While there is no such thing as "no risk" right now, many child care programs in Westchester have been safely open throughout the pandemic and there's room for your child(ren). https://www.nytimes.com//parenti/day-care-safe-covid.html
National Make a Difference Day is a day dedicated to volunteering and community service! Take today to lend your support to a nonprofit cause you care about. To get involved with and support the CCCW, get started here! https://www.childcarewestchester.org/get-involved

We're watching! Are you?
Child care programs are in trouble all over the U.S., including here in Westchester County. The pandemic will end. Parents will go back to work. Schools will resume in-person schedules. Child care options must be available for us to experience a full economic recovery.
The party is what you make of it! Council staff will be watching Dream Big 2020 spread out, but together. Just 2.5 hours to go!
To attend Dream Big 2020 tonight, simply go to this website: https://dreambig.childcarewestchester.org/. The event will "open" at 5:30pm and officially begin at 6:00. Anyone and everyone is invited to watch!
