I remember when I used to be young and carefree I can’t wait until I make six figures so that I can xyz What people forget is the in-between process of being and becoming. What people don’t realize is that this kind of self talk is detrimental to your wellbeing and health. They fall in love with the idea of something outside of themselves and forget to be present in the process because the past or future version of you is merely a fantasy. When you actually fall in love with the process of something that is unfolding, you are in relation with the journey and not just the outcome. In an age of information and technology, we are constantly being bombarded with stories Stories of sickness Stories of destruction... Stories of despair Our friends and family also tell us stories They tell us stories of what’s right or wrong What’s good or bad When to get married and have kids What type of life we should be living And when you continue to buy into those stories They become internalized as yours. And they become limiting beliefs and blockages that separate you from your authentic truth. The truth that is you are NOT your stories. You are not your past. You are not your future. You are not what everyone thinks you should be. Your stories create your reality. The stories you buy into become your filters They dim your light and create a facade, veiling you from your Higher Self. If you continue to buy into those stories, you might believe that you are too young or too old to change your career. You might believe that you are not pretty enough or thin enough to become a role model or influencer. You might believe that you are too sensitive to be a leader or business owner. Well, it’s not true when you alchemize your pain into your purpose. You’re never too young or too old because age is just a number, your soul is all-knowing. Your journey of becoming is more important than the destination. Your sensitivity is your strength and your superpower. There was a time when I used to run away from my problems. I would escape reality when 5PM hit and I could head to happy hours, or when weekends were what my life revolved around. I would escape in song and dance, with a drink in hand or get so high on drugs that my limitations were no longer and my inhibitions were lowered. ... Escapism only deterred me from my problems. My relationship wasn’t healthy. My career was unfulfilling. And I ultimately got to a point where I had to face myself and this crossroad. I had a choice to make. To continue to run away, which really just meant continuing to hide from my truth and continue to run on the hamster wheel of life... Or choose to face my problems head on I knew I had to do the deep inner work. I knew I had to face my shadows. I knew I had to lean within so I could transform without. I chose the road that seemed more painful at the time. It seemed more painful because I didn’t have the money to invest in coaches and courses. I didn’t have the the time to slow down and look within. I didn’t have the community to support and understand my change. And so I created more time. I created the resources. I created the communities Because I knew that the pain of staying the same was greater than the pain of change. Choose the road that runs towards your problems.. And it might just lead you home !
