Course Title : Anti-Black Racism: Strengthening Our Voices for Change Format: Online-Synchronous Time: Meets Once a Week Class Size: 20 students... Course Description: This online synchronous course introduces the social construct of race, the implications of historical and structural racism and the ways in which anti-Black racism is present within higher education and the culinary industry. Readings, multimedia, research, writing and discussion of past and present events will provide the foundation for students to investigate personal, relational and collective manifestations of anti-Black racism. Utilizing personal reflection, students will situate their lived experiences with anti-Black racism in a historical context, analyzing examples within higher education and the culinary industry, and deconstructing anti-Black racism to promote systemic change in their current environment.
