Who’s ready for 2021? ______ For the first time in 15yrs, I’ll be home for new year. Every year I’d celebrated in a different country. Last year I was in Ecuador at this time. I’m not upset about it and am doing something special. 2020 has taught me a lot about myself. It’s easy to go back to old patterns when I don’t take care of my mental health. How are you? ______ Burnt out? Tired? Unmotivated? Depressed? It’s been a hell of a year with no end in sight or is there? It’s easy to get lost in the noise but don’t despair! I’ve got you. Stay focused and balanced with my survival tips: ______ Meditate daily for clarity... Get sunshine or a sun lamp for SAD Move every day for health Stop beating yourself up Nourish your body w/healthier options Unplug at least once a day for sanity ________ Once daylight savings hit, I got punched hard in the face with a lack of motivation and SAD. I didn’t feel like doing anything. It happens. Every now and then I fall off track and stay there for a bit. I stopped meditating, eating healthy and exercising regularly. It’s not a place I stay in very long because I’m not the best I can be to myself or to those around me. It’s ok to fall off track. No one is perfect. We’re going to do it again but each time, you can get better at overcoming those obstacles. Like, comment and share if you agree. I call this cactus arm rotation which is great for increasing mobility in your shoulder girdle and upper mid back (rhomboids and low traps). It also strengthens your external rotator cuff which keeps your shoulder healthy especially with all those pushups, presses. I had adventures of a lifetime and worked hard so I could play just as hard. F...rom living in Brazil to sailing on a gulet in Turkey to cruising in Sardinia, I was having the time of my life! Something was missing though. It wasn’t until a decade later that I realized I had to come home to myself. Avoiding my problems wasn’t the answer. You are worthy _________ It’s easy to beat yourself up over and over, especially if you’ve been doing it for years. Suffering becomes your comfort zone. I did that for decades and didn’t realize how hard I was on myself. On the outside, I appeared to be this strong and indestructible woman who had it all together. I couldn’t figure out why I was in this vicious cycle, repeating similar patterns or making the same mistakes. I was successful. I was in my physical prime. I l...oved helping others with my passion, but I struggled on how I could help myself. _______ It took a lot of work to break down my own walls and to face myself. I couldn’t sweep my issues under the rug anymore. With time, patience and consistency, I was able to break those old patterns and behavior which were holding me back from being my best self. I found solace through meditation and the ability to let go of all that no longer served me. I’m proud of how far I’ve come. What I’ve learned through the process has enabled me to help others do the same. ________ No matter where you are right now, never forget how amazing you are! You are worthy and you are loved. Don’t be afraid to reach out for help. It’s ok to not be ok. It takes courage to be vulnerable. Surround yourself with people who want the best for you. Holler if you don’t know where to start. ME vs. MYSELF ______ @robertaltmanphotography _______ Do you experience lack of motivation from time to time? Are you burnt out or have low energy? That was me this week. Maybe it was the moon, not getting enough sleep or low vitamin D. Whatever the case may have been, I can’t stay in that mindset for long. ... ______ I’ve been working a lot with barely any days off. I haven’t surfed all week and fell off with my meditation practice. I wasn’t motivated to exercise and felt crappy. It’s not the first time it’s happened to me. Finding a good balance mentally and physically is a struggle sometimes. This is perfectly normal. We’re all human and we have struggles. We fall on our faces. We may get drained. That’s part of life. Learning how to pick yourself back up is key in overcoming obstacles. _______ As in introvert, I need time to recharge my batteries. Some days I don’t want to talk to anyone. I haven’t been doing a great job about taking care of me lately, (I’m better at taking care of others) so I needed to step back. Saltwater therapy helps me detox. I need to focus on more sleep.
