It was during my middle school years that I remember stumbling on a recording of my father Myron Ottley and one of his friends singing an 8-part arrangement of ...The Old Rugged Cross (multi-layered recording). I instantly fell in love with the arrangement and sought to do it one day with some of my friends as well. Over the years, there were a few promising opportunities, but none of them materialized. Then came the quarantine of 2020. I think all musicians would agree that this pandemic has forced us to be more creative in ways we haven’t been beforepushing our abilities and broadening our skillset to include technology at a level that matched our musicianship. This recording definitely reflects my developing efforts in this area. Back in June, when we set the calendar at Takoma Park SDA Church, and decided to do a virtual communion in September, I was thrilled at the opportunity to finally do this song. One day, when this world and its trials are over, I anticipate the joy to trading in my cross for my very own crown. The Old Rugged Cross arr. Myron Ottley unpublished ...use headphones...

The Northeastern Towers annex project is complete. Local authorities have issued the temporary certificate of occupancy. In a few days families selected for ...the 159 units of senior housing will begin moving in. Conference staff was joined by Atlantic Union Conference President G. Earl Knight for a dedicatory prayer and an inspection of the premises. A formal ribbon cutting is planned in the near future. See more
