For our first faculty spotlight, we have professor Zhilu (Luna) Lin! Luna is originally from Beijing and moved here after getting her undergraduate degree. She recently started teaching finance courses at the Reh School after getting her PhD in finance from the University of Mississippi. On top of teaching, she does research on CEOs, firm innovation, corporate entrepreneurship, IPOs, venture capital, and ESG investments. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also likes to travel around the North Country for a good hike or just a good place to explore. Thank you Luna!

Reh School of business would like to recognize College Care! Created by School of Business student Dylan Pratico, the organization bridges the gap between students and their home while they are on campus. To do this, College Care creates personalized care packages that students can be sent from home. Dylan and his brother Brandon are dedicated to their work and are continuously trying to grow their organization. If you would like to send your own care package, email Dylan at [email protected] to get one started!

LGBTQ+ Pride Month is celebrated every year in June. The commemorative month is meant to recognize the sweeping impact that LGBTQ+ individuals, advocates, and a...llies have on history in the United States and around the globe. The month of June was chosen for LGBTQ+ Pride Month to commemorate the riots held by members of the LGBTQ+ community against a police raid that took place at the Stonewall Inn in New York City on June 28, 1969. The riots were spearheaded by two transgender women of color activists: Marsha P. Johnson, who was black, and Latinx Sylvia Rivera. During this Pride month, we remember the lives of those killed at Pulse Nightclub on June 12th, 2016. We honor the life of Tony McDade, a Black trans man who was shot and killed by police on May 27th, 2020. Black lives matter. Trans lives matter. Black trans lives matter. As Clarkson continues doing its part to create more just and equitable systems, we echo the importance of centering and uplifting the voices of queer people of color, whose struggles are shared by the entire LGBTQ+ community. There can be no pride if it is not intersectional. There can be no equality if all of us are not equal.
