Greetings on this first day of November! I'm writing this in order to share what, and where, donations to CHEF help make happen. I'm sharing some upcoming events that CHEF is supporting through our grant process. The very first school community wide Literacy Night will be held Thursday, November 7th. This event will be free to all community members because of the CHEF grant that was awarded, along with donations from Cleveland Hill PTSA and the Cleveland Hill Teacher's Union.... On Friday, November 8th the annual Veteran's Day breakfast will be held. This event was created by the Elementary School librarian and it's a wonderful way for our veteran's to feel the love and gratitude this community holds for their service to our country. CHEF relies completely on donations made to us by staff and faculty, along with alumni and community members. I need to extend heartfelt thanks, on behalf of CHEF, to everyone who has chosen to support us. I especially want to thank my fellow 1969 classmates who donated to CHEF at our recent 50th reunion. Other classes who have been extremely generous to CHEF are the Classes of 1967 and 1977. I so need to share that individuals from other classes continue to donate on their own. CHEF would not be able to continue to support all the wonderful opportunities we have been able to make possible over the past 20+ years without each of you. Once and Eagle ALWAYS an Eagle! With a very grateful BLUE and Gold heart..... Sincerely, Colleen Proehl CHEF President

This afternoon I was honored to represent CHEF at the opening day for faculty and staff at Cleveland Hill. I asked for their support of CHEF during this United Way drive by simply indicating CHEF as their donor choice. We encourage fellow community members to consider supporting us when they fill out their United Way payroll deduction. Or you can simply donate right here on our FB Page.... I guarantee those donations go directly into our account. All donations go directly to our Cleveland Hill students. CHEF has awarded over $120,000 in grants that have been presented to us. We need your support to help us continue helping the awesome efforts and ideas that come our way. Thanks in advance for your support! Sincerely, Colleen Proehl CHEF President PS... We presented each faculty and staff member with an inspiring sticker, and a bag of M&M’s to start their year. See more

Tonight at our CHEF meeting we awarded $6,000 in grant requests. The K-12 students will experience a Literacy Night in November. This event will include a visit from author Jerry Craft, author of the graphic novel New Kid. Along with a number of other wonderful activities for students and their families. Some high school students will have an experience with the 2019 Buffalo Bills Management program. The high school students will be enjoying a visit from author Tiffany Jackso...n, novels include Allegedly, Monday's Not Coming and Let Me Hear a Rhyme. We are also providing her books for students to read before her visit. In sharing this information my hope it to show you that we do indeed put all the donations we receive to good use, directly to the students at Cleveland Hill. On behalf of the CHEF board I THANK YOU for your support. It is greatly appreciated by so many. Enjoy this glorious summer! Sincerely Colleen Proehl President CHEF See more

CHEF is so very honored to award our most recent grants. One was for the Middle School mentoring program. Another was to the Elementary Library's Veteran's Day program. CHEF feels so strongly about this program we have decided to make this a "standing" donation. On a side note this program had David Bellavia as their guest speaker in 2017 and CHEF purchased his book "House to House" to be "gifted" to each veteran in attendance. How very proud we all are for David Bellavia to receive the Medal of Honor today.
