Russ brings up a good subject ,the railroad along the north shore was the NEW YORK ONTARIO and WESTERN . NY&OW This railroad had a fascinat...ing history and was an important factor in developing the north shore. Started in Weehahawken NJ and ran diagonaly ( cross lots ) up through the Catskills towards Oswego NY. It connected that Lake Ontario port city with NYC. Passed along the north shore and had stations in even the smallest places it connected us to the world for passenger and freight. In 1957- 58 tracks removed in our area with promise of a supper high next year. See more

Unfortunately, with the current social distancing restrictions, we have canceled our previously scheduled May speaker. We hope to reschedule the event at a future date, but we don't have an alternative date at the moment.
