Our website now features an embedded trip planner! The tool developed by 511NY will allow you to figure out how to get where you're going using CCPT buses. The trip planner reflects our current limited schedule due to restrictions in place by the county to limit the spread of COVID-19. Check it out on the website's main page! http://www.clintoncountypublictransit.com/

Clinton County Public Transit is currently operating most of its scheduled services. The North End, South End, and West End routes are still only running between 9:53 am and 3:53 pm (with the runs beginning at the Government Center at 2:53 pm being the last runs). All other routes and services are operating as scheduled.

Update: Preparations are being made to resume either partial or full CCPT service. We are acquiring masks, gloves, and cleaning supplies and installing Lexan barriers between the drivers and where the passengers board the bus. The re-open date is not yet known. We anticipate a decision on re-opening at the July 15th session of the County Legislature. Once the re-opening date is known, we will need some time to get everyone trained up on various new policies. Based on the information available, we think we will see either a partial or full re-opening of CCPT in early August. We understand that a lot of people are eager for the bus service to resume and we appreciate your patience. Please continue to make use of the 211 number / United Way / JCEO for any immediate transportation needs. Thank you.

7/24/2020: Clinton County Public Transit will resume partial services beginning Monday, August 3rd. Initially, we will have the North City, South City, and West City routes operating between 9:53 am and 3:53 pm (the runs beginning at the government center at 2:53 pm will be the last runs of the day). Anyone outside of Plattsburgh should call us at 518-561-1452 to make arrangements on the "Rural Zone" Dial-A-Ride service which can bring you into Plattsburgh and then back home later. We plan on bringing back the full schedule of services eventually, but we want to start small and see how it goes. Passengers must wear masks unless medically unable to. Seating on the buses is limited because of social distancing.

Hello everyone, we have had a lot of questions about when CCPT will resume some service again. We do not have an answer to that question at this time, but we are working on getting necessary supplies of masks, gloves, and cleaning supplies so that we will be able to reopen. We do not expect to resume service in June. Please continue to be patient and we will provide updated information once it becomes available. Thank you all very much. Please stay safe and stay healthy.

Everyone, please call the United Way at 211 if you have a transportation need. Currently CCPT does not have a date for resuming its services. We will be back, we just do not know when yet. We are not running because we are trying to help "flatten the curve". Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases has continued to go up. Potentially, CCPT might resume limited services sooner rather than later if needed to respond to an emergency need.

As we are all dealing with the novel corona virus situation and trying to slow the spread of the disease by practicing social distancing, we feel it is appropriate to shut down Clinton County Public Transit operations as of this Sunday, March 22nd, 2020. We will resume services at such time as it is appropriate to do so. Please feel free to contact me at 518-565-4713 with any questions. Please leave a call back number when you call. I will be able to access my voicemail periodically even if I am not in the office that day. Thank you, James Bosley, Planning Technician

Hi everyone, the weather forecast is looking pretty bad for the next couple of days. There is a Winter Storm Warning talking about 10 to 18 inches of snow and/or mixed precipitation and some ice in between. Friday might be worse than Thursday. We are going to wait and see what the conditions are like before we make a decision, but we might have to close early or not run at all on February 6th and/or February 7th. If it is between 8am and 5pm you can reach us at 518-561-1452 to check and see what we are doing. We might still be running but just running late because we are being safe and going slow. If we have to shut down we should be able to get a post up on here fairly quickly. Let us hope for good weather and safe travels.

Due to icy road conditions, Clinton County Public Transit (CCPT) "rural" routes (Champlain / Rouses Point, Clayburg, Ellenburg, Keeseville / AuSable, and Lyon Mountain routes, as well as the Rural Zone dial-a-ride service) will not be running today, Tuesday November 19th, 2019. As a result, some runs of the Express Shuttle route will also not be running today. CCPT "city" routes (CCC Seasonal, South Connector, Uptown Down, and West End routes) will still be running today. The buses may be delayed as drivers will be driving cautiously. Please plan accordingly. Please call us at 518-561-1452 if you have questions or concerns.
