On Thursday, students of our school district participated in CNY's local "Stuff the Bus Challenge." This toy drive began in 2008 and was created to help the le...ss fortunate families in our community have a happier holiday, regardless of financial hardships. The main goal, as the title would suggest, is to stuff the bus with unwrapped toys to distribute to families in our area. It has been documented that over a decade, "Stuff the Bus" has received over 100,000 toys! Thankfully, COVID couldn't stop our community and students from giving back, and helping to stuff the bus for the holiday season! This the fourth year our school district has participated in this incredible challenge, and it was our best year yet! We are so grateful for the continuous support of our community and students. Special thank you to the American Legion for their generous donations, the members of our elementary and high school, the Positivity Project, and Mr. Khan, for their help in gathering toy donations and stuffing the bus! This past year has been a trying one for all. Some businesses flourished, many suffered, many closed permanently, some new businesses opened. I think it is safe... to say that not one business has gone unaffected. I can say that my business is literally built on my blood, sweat and tears. All of ours are. We are all too familiar with the long days and sleepless nights, but the rewards are endless. They are not always monetary. Small business owners are some of the strongest, most flexible and most resilient people that I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. There is a certain pride in seeing the product of your passion, determination and drive. Small business owners are committed to their customers and their communities.
