Is it a Wacky Wednesday kind of day? Well, it sure is a beautiful morning for Storytime! Did you know that yesterday was Dr. Seuss' birthday? So, today I am going to share a Dr. Seuss book. It is called "Wacky Wednesday." It is written by Dr.Seuss, but as Theo. LeSieg, illustrated by George Booth, and published by Random House Books. A shoe on the wall? A boot on the ceiling? What is going on?! So much craziness everywhere! So many silly things to count! It sure is a WaCkY We...dnesday! But, apparently not for everyone! Luckily, Wednesday only lasts for 24 hours! "Wacky Wednesday" is the March Book of the Month! There are several copies available, so stop in and check one out! Take it home to enjoy and be sure to find all the crazy, silly things on each page! I kept them all a secret so you can find them when you read the book! Have a great day; enjoy the sunshine! Fill this special week, Read Across America week, reading some great books! Reading is important every day! See you on Saturday! ~ Darlene

It’s time for another great story! Today’s story is called, Jingle-Jingle. It is written and illustrated by Nicola Smee, and published by Boxer Books. Cat, Dog, Pig and Duck are asked by Mr. Horse if they’d like to go for a sleigh ride. The friends instantly say yes, and off they go! Their relaxing sleigh ride takes a different direction, which the friends enjoy. But, Mr. Horse is not fond of the ideas... at first. Join me as we find out what these crazy friends do! Wha...t a fun time they have! Enjoy! I’ll be back Saturday! Have a great rest of your week! - Darlene
A new rotation of large print books and audiobooks has arrived, and they are ready for you! These titles will be available on our shelves for 3 months. Check them out!
Good Morning! It’s Take Your Child to the Library Day celebration at the library this morning! So, I’m sharing the stories that are part of the program. Our first story is called, The Berenstain Bears We Lve the Library by Mike Berenstain. It’s published by Harper Festival. The title pretty much sums it up! The Bear family loves the library, and they enjoy their library visits. Their library is possibly going to be closed to save money. Which, unfortunately, library fundi...ng is a very real issue. But, in our story, Brother and Sister Bear work together to save it! They share the different things they love about their library; what do you love about your library? Our second story is the February Book of the Month feature selection. It is titled, The Mitten. It’s an Ukrainian Folktale adapted and illustrated by popular and long-time favorite author, Jan Brett. This book is published by G.P. Putnam’s Sons. The main character, Nicki, wants new mittens white as snow. So he requests them from his grandmother, Baba. Finally, despite reservation that he’d loose them in the snow, she agrees to knit him a pair. Quickly after receiving his new, warm, white as snow mittens, he headed outside. As Baba had expected, he lost one of them in the snow. But, what no one expected is that many woodland creatures would enjoy them as much as Nicki! Read along and discover the adventure the mitten presents! It’s pretty amazing! Also, there’s a take and make bag of activities that come along with the stories. The bag includes a mitten that holds the characters as the story is read, a Valentine person to make, a bookmark to color (because who doesn’t need a new bookmark?!), and a fun glider. There will be an accompanying post with the directions coming soon. Enjoy! I’ll be back Wednesday morning! Have a great weekend! - Darlene

All you need is a library card! ... Have you ever wondered what the cost of buying the library materials you have borrowed would be? Look at the bottom of your receipt at checkout and it will tell you! It’s pretty neat!
We can’t help with the winter cold or snow, or with the warm blankets... but, we sure can help with the books! The library is open 9-2 today! Stop in and stock up on your weekend reads!
Happy First Saturday of 2021! Today’s story is called, Winter Is The Warmest Season. It’s written and illustrated by Lauren Stringer and published by Harcourt, Inc. Wait... WINTER is the WARMEST season?! I guess I have never thought of winter as warm!? Let’s read together as the author shares with us her perceptive of this season! Perspective is a fancy word for saying the way that one thinks about or looks at a topic. Another phrase with a similar meaning is point of ...view. I think when we are done with the story you will agree with much of her ideas! What is your favorite thing about winter? Perhaps you like to build a snowman, watch the snow fall, go sledding or skiing, or take a nature walk? Enjoy! I will be back Wednesday with another wintry book to share! - Darlene
Happy New Year! Wishing you all the best in 2021!
