Lavender 1st Birthday Cake For a delightful young lady having reached her first birthday, a party was held at a private venue to celebrate. Delicious catering, including our stunning cake, was organised for thirty five people who attended. The cake that the parents ordered was color co-ordinated, becoming a one year old. In a pretty lavender fondant, we designed a festive two tier speciality. Multi pastel shaded ribbons dotted with white, striped the first section. Above, sug...ared flowers, large and small, in pink, purple, blue and green, surrounded the tier. It now looked like a work of art on a white base, with lavender capital letters reading HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY IRIS. The base of each tier was encircled with large, fun multi color beads, all edible. The filling throughout was a scrumptious vanilla and strawberry preserve. As a topper, a fun No 1 stood out clearly and was surrounded by a multitude of shooting stars to match the flowers. Airforce Plane Cake A zest for the Blue Angels and F/A-18 Hornets, prompted two boys to have a birthday cake reflecting their interest in aviation. Ten people were invited to the celebration. At our bakery, the staff were presented with the idea and we set out to model a replica of the aircraft.... The F/A-18 Hornet, which has the blue and yellow livery, identifying it as a member of the elite aerobatic and formation planes, was used by the Blue Angels of the American Navy. Normally, they fly their trademark in tight diamond formation and are the second oldest formal flying aerobatic team. Our magnificent replica stood proudly on a bright yellow board with a blue border. The plane is sleek and streamlined in authentic shades of blue and yellow, looking superbly grand. The celebrations was for twins and the message 'Happy Birthday Demetri & Nicholas' was formed by blue lettering along the edge of the base. Having their special delight in the form of a cake made them super proud. Silver Patron Bottle Cake We were asked to make a special cake for the occasion of a 21st birthday in the form of a Patron Tequila bottle, what fun! It looked like the real thing! The chosen filling was red velvet and cream cheese. The catering was at a private venue in New York for 30 esteemed guests. We covered the cake in a stunning silver fondant and carefully crafted labels as used by Patron. The bottle was circled with a bright green sash and sealed with a brown stopper.... It stood on a square board covered in a jet black fondant and a green ribbon trim. The important words HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY TJ in a matching bright green color were placed along the front. No doubt, the party was arranged for a gentleman, interested in Tequila and also a connoisseur of the good things in life. Interestingly enough,as soon as Patron Tequila was introduced, its glass bottle became a symbol of the brand and its premium craftsmanship. Expertly hand crafted and hand numbered, made from recycled glass, it truly is a work of art and can be utilized well after the spirit has been enjoyed. To complete the look, we fashioned two Tequila shot glasses made of fondant to stand beside the bottle. Purple Coach Handbag Cake To order a Coach bag cake for a fifty and fabulous lady, shows that she is classy and elegant and has impeccable taste. A party was prepared for 25 guests at a private venue for the celebration. The story behind the cake, as to how the Coach Bags came to be, is interesting. In 1962 Bonnie Cashin was hired to work for the company. She designed outlandish handbags, using vibrant colors like lipstick red and candy pink. The bags had streamlined shapes a...nd became a real hit in the world of fashion. In keeping with this idea, we used a bold, bright, deep purple fondant to cover the cake. The filling was a delicious vanilla and Dulce De Leche. The fondant was then draped and molded expertly in the shape of the bag by our artists. This included the handles, folds, silver clips and the Coach logo which says it all. We placed the bag on an ivory base draped to look like a soft cloth. A purple trim around the base matched the color of the bag. We placed a stylish number 50 and the message FABULOUS NATALIE in silver lettering across the front of the base. Baby Shower Cake With Stork Awaiting the birth of a baby is a wonderful thing. This was to be a girls' baby shower and we were asked to make a single tier cake in pale pink. Thirty-five guests were invited to enjoy the happy occasion. We covered the tier in a light baby pink fondant and stood it on a darker pink base. The sides were decorated with pretty scalloped edges and dotted all over, gave the theme a pretty finish. On the base, a gorgeous white bow perfectly knotted, w...as the focal point. Strands of ribbon floated outwards in soft delicate folds. The filling was a delicious chocolate and cookies and cream. As a topper, we crafted a delightful pink carriage with a pale pastel green comfy baby blanket. Little play blocks were scattered amongst pink and white dragees. An iconic image, a Stork, stood tall and proud on the top, with a matching deep pink body and long green beak. The 'Baby Shower' is typically arranged and hosted by a close friend. Guests bring small gifts for the expectant mother, including baby blankets, clothes and toys. It is common to open the gifts during the party and watch the reaction of the delighted mother-to-be.
