Robin Fostini led Table Topics with storytelling. Then after seeing the doughnut, Scott Leonard when on a glorious riff on how he's watching his weight so really shouldn't have one. You see the result in the pic! All this writer caught of Karen Acee's speech was something about toenails (my computer crashed and I was temporarily off line) but it looked like the group thoroughly enjoyed her presentation. And then Nick Burns talked of Sisyphus, Camus, and some storytelling about himself. We are excited to invite guests to our meetings who want to eliminate the jitters and give ace presentations. As you can see from the image of our Holiday Feast below, the biggest, baddest problem with the fact that Wednesday's meeting was on Zoom is we could only look, but not eat! Oh, well. We did get a terrific speech from Karen Acee, "Shhhh...It's a Secret!! And then Scott Leonard served up a real sweet by delighting us with a theatrical reading of "A Visit From St. Nicholas." Now that's the Christmas spirit. Speaking of Christmas spirit, our next meeting is the 23rd, Christmas Eve Eve. Prez Claudette Ferrone encourages us all to Zoom in the ugliest sweater we can find. Nick Burns was chair for our Fall Club Contest today. The group heard two terrific speeches. Paul Marshall's International Speech about coaching and mentoring reminded us of the pleasure of teaching others how to succeed. And we laughed at Mackay Rippey's Humorous Speech as he reminded us how darn hard it is to keep track of the kids! Both will represent CNY Biztalkers at the Area 55 Contest early next year. Division Director Monica Van Aucken visited us today. Great to see her! She got into the action (third down in left column) with some praise of that old standby show The Waltons during Table Topics. Karen Acee spoke first and told us right off the bat that she was a procrastinator. But wait, not for doing fun stuff outdoors. We're with her! And Mackay Rippey talked about history in a brand new way with the beverages people drank during different eras: beer, coffee, wine, and... coke. Neat stuff. Valuable evaluations by Rachel Stark and Wendy Eden followed, both offering useful tips for our speakers to improve. Our next meeting is our Fall Contest on Nov 11. Humor and International speeches.
