HALLOWEEN IN AMERICA ~~~HALLOWEEN was brought to North America primarily by the English immigrants and their connection to early Celtic traditions such as Samhain, and the church’s All Souls Day or All Saints Day. Traditions put food outside and other symbolic items to scare away evil spirits on the night before Halloween... All Hallows Eve/All Saints Day. HALLOWEEN evolved into festivities primarily in the southeastern colonies and states, then ultimately evolved into our modern traditions in the 19th century. Captions under photos.
