In loving memory of, Millie Tavares, a beautiful soul we were blessed to have experienced in this lifetime. 2/4/85 - 1/15/21Millie Taveras On this day, January 15, 2021, it is with a heavy heart that Come Connect Church stands together in prayers for God’s peace and comfort over the Taveras family and for all those that mourn the homegoing of Millie Tavares. Millie Tavares is survived by her husband and best friend, Argeli Akey Tavares, as well as by their sons Aaden and E...zra. Millie was a kind soul, a beautiful human and an inspiration to so many. Our words fall short in expressing all she meant to us. We are at a lose of words to adequately express the immense impact and imprint she has forever left in our hearts. It is with this in mind that we look to no better place for some earthly comfort than from Millie’s own words. Millie having needed an outlet to encourage others, blessed us all with her blog. It’s through her words that I know God will bring us some comfort during this challenging time. In her blog Millie shared about her experiences with cancer and how she processed suffering. In this time where we find ourselves suffering the loss of our dear sister, let us feel Millie’s words and try to live as she would’ve wanted. Millie wrote: I invite you to find strength in suffering, and use it to fuel you. There are many valuable lessons you learn through suffering, it doesn't feel good but it will build your character. In her blog, Millie also left us insight into what we should be focusing on in this very moment in time, as well as some great advice: When I leave this Earth what really matters is how I treated people. If I gave, and caused those around me to value life as well. You know in your suffering how you can gain strength? I gain strength in praying, it gives me a peace that surpasses all understanding, and it gives me hope. I always remember this verse in the Christian bible which says in regards to suffering; that suffering 'produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope. There couldn't be any more truth in this verse. [(Romans 5:3-5 NIV)]
