1 Vehicle Collision Injures One - On Monday, March 1st at approximately 3:00pm Commack Ambulance was activated for a motor vehicle accident with reports of a vehicle fire at the intersection of Commack Road and Daly Road. Upon arrival of the first units, a vehicle was found to be fully involved with flames. The only occupant of the vehicle was able to exit the vehicle themselves. Ambulances 15, 17, and 21 responded along with the district paramedic, Captain Lowenberg and Lieu...tenant Malloy. The single occupant of the vehicle was evaluated and refused medical attention. Commack Fire Department worked to put out the vehicle fire. The scene was turned over to the Suffolk County Police Department for further investigation. Commack Ambulance would like to thank the Commack Fire Department and Suffolk County Police Department for their assistance.

1 Vehicle Collision Injures One - On Saturday, February 27th at approximately 9:20am, Commack Ambulance was activated for a motor vehicle accident with reported overturn on Jericho Turnpike in front of Plaster Funcraft. Ambulance 17 and the district paramedic arrived on scene and confirmed the overturn. The vehicle also struck a utility pole and knocked out power to the area. The single occupant of the vehicle was able to exit the vehicle themselves. The occupant was transported to a local trauma hospital for treatment of their injuries. The scene was turned over to the Suffolk County Police Department for further investigation. Commack Ambulance would like to thank the Commack Fire Department and Suffolk County Police Department for their assistance.

On Saturday, February 27, from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm, the Northport VA Medical Center is offering coronavirus vaccines for qualifying veterans. No appointment is necessary. You are eligible to participate in this Saturday's walk-in clinic if you meet ALL of the following requirements: - Are a veteran over 65 years old ... - Have been seen at the VA or one of the VA operating clinics within the past 2 years - Are registered with the VA and have an active VA account The clinic is located at the Northport VA Medical Center Campus, located at 79 Middleville Road, Northport, New York 11768. Please follow the signs and police vehicles to the vaccination clinic area. An appointment to receive a second dose will be scheduled during the visit. NOTE: Supplies are limited and the vaccine will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Once the stock has run out, the walk-in clinic will close down.
