Join us on February 23 at 1pm for a video called "The Lincoln Legacy in the Modern World." You must reserve a seat as attendance will be limited. Presented by Road Scholar this video is interesting, informative, and educational. Join us as we explore the legacy of Abraham Lincoln through a modern lens in this fascinating lecture from Dr. Samuel Wheeler. Abraham Lincoln's presidency transformed American society and helped create the modern world we recognize today. For the pas...t 150 years, the world has been fascinated with his life and legacy. There are more books written about him than any other American, while his presidency routinely ranks atop the lists of America's greatest presidents. However, his legacy has never been entirely free of controversy, perhaps never more so than today, as the recent removal of a statue in Boston celebrating his role as the "Great Emancipator" demonstrates. Join Dr. Samuel Wheeler, former State Historian of Illinois and Director of Research and Collections at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield, Illinois, for an examination of Abraham Lincoln's life and legacy.
