Mushroom Shed

We had a blast at our mini workshop last week! We built a cold frame to add to our community garden and inoculated 6 buckets of sawdust and alpaca wool with blue oyster mushroom spawn from @sugarshackmushrooms. To pasteurize the materials we tried 2 different methods: one using a cooler to create a hot water bath, and a tea bag method (allowing the materials to steep in a bag in boiling water). The community mushroom garden got some upgrades! We are in the process of building a shade structure for the community mushroom garden which will house the outdoor mushroom experiments we will be exploring in our upcoming workshops

The community mushroom shed is getting an upgrade. Even the shiitake mushrooms are coming out to see it

The day has finally come- we have four walls up! We painted the walls with the clay that we dug up for the shed footings. As we focus on getting the physical space ready, we have some exciting online learning opportunities in the works to share with you soon. Stay tuned!!
